Milpark Education: Business School
What makes Milpark different to other business schools?
As a smaller education provider, we are fast and flexible. Where other schools rely to some extent on their brand and offer a fixed suite of education services, we are able to tailor our offerings exactly to what clients need. We also benefit from being part of the international Apollo group of schools. We are able to leverage off its state-of-the-art technology and share its insights and ideas. It has allowed us to move much faster into online education than we might otherwise have done.
We try to give clients realistic expectations of what they can expect from corporate learning. You can’t give us someone for four days or 10 days and expect them to return transformed. We’re a launchpad. Executive education is one stage in the process of personal development.
What will your students experience there that they won’t elsewhere?
We set out to engage the student not just on the cognitive level but also emotionally and physically. Business education should not be just a mental exercise in a safe classroom or online environment. You must also experience the emotions and stresses that come with it. We want our students to be immersed in reality, as close as possible to the real thing.
How would you describe your teaching methods?
Again, realistic. We also have an online methodology which depends on high engagement, We have problems and challenges where every single person has to take part and give opinions. Its not about the lecturer giving his opinion on your opinion but about the other 24 in your class giving their opinion on your opinion. Sometimes it gets quite heated. That’s real life.
How much exec-ed education is online and how much classroom-based?
Our online executive education offerings are growing. In fact, we think we are doing ground-breaking work in this space. Many clients are asking about the options for online engagement so people don’t have to leave the workplace.
Does Milpark have particular subject strengths/specialities?
We have a very strong track record and niche expertise in financial services, including banking and financial planning.
